Tap

Want to add rhythm and styling to your dance? Tap dancing is great fitness and provides a fantastic foundation to allow more creativity and movement in your swing dancing.

Back by popular demand, Jamie is excited to be offering adult Tap classes! Tap dancing has its roots in the fusion of several ethnic percussive dances, including African dances like Swing. Some of the greats of the 30s and 40s were inspirational in their tap abilities, like Fred Astaire and Eleanor Powell – see below!

Whether you’re a complete beginner, or a seasoned tap dancer who has taken a hiatus and are keen to get those feet moving again – come along and give it a go!

Where: ANU Sport, Blue Room, North Road, ANU (First timers – Ask about the room location at the Sports Union reception desk, or turn right at the end of the corridor and up the stairs.)
